Becoming a memberIf you would like to become more actively involved in Amphibian and Reptile conservation, work outdoors in the fresh air and meet like-minded people then why not join us? As a member, you could become involved with practical projects such as surveying, pond creation, terrestrial habitat restoration and creation as well building hibernation sites and grass snake egg laying sites. We are also always looking for assistance with the springtime “Toads on Roads” campaign. Don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself to be experienced, we don’t require you to be an expert! The best place to learn about our native amphibians & reptiles is out in the field. We are a friendly bunch and the main requirements are interest and enthusiasm. You will also receive your own copy of the twice-yearly SWWARG News letter. Membership is £6.00 for those waged and £3.00 for those unwaged (including students) and retired. Renewal is due on a yearly basis and requires a completed membership form to be returned to the treasurer Jessica Lloyd (address on membership form), together with a completed volunteer working procedures form (needed for affiliation to ARG UK Insurance, for liability protection of members). Note: In order to be an insured SWWARG member both forms (Membership form and Volunteer Working Agreement) need to be filled out and returned on an annual basis. Annual renewal is due on the 1st day of the month you first joined, with an email reminding you of your renewal sent to you before the due date and another email after the renewal date, which you have 30 days to renew or your membership will lapse.
